The Sena Philosophy
Our customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Relax you are in great hands!
What Makes Sena Spa Special
Sena is a small locally-owned business within The Teton Club. We’re a cozy private spa with personalized service provided by top-notch professionals who customize each session.
World-Class Massage and Skin Care
We’ve worked in, managed, and created menus for spas of Jackson Hole including Lost Creek Spa, The Body Sage Spa, Little Spa at The Alpine House, Alpenhof, Amangani, Four Seasons and more. Our owner is tireless in her quest to create exceptional value-added experiences in our cozy setting, on par with renown niche and destination spas found in Travel + Leisure or Andrew Harper Travel. We’ve taken the best of what we have learned in the world’s destination and boutique spas to bring you World-Class Massage and healthy, rejuvenating Skin Care.
Consultative, Intuitive Approach to Integrative Bodywork
An elite team, your professional contracted therapists are carefully selected, vetted by an owner with near 16 years of experience in bodywork, and compensated at above-market rates for their commute to serve you here in Teton Village. We’re versatile body workers adept at working on athletes and addressing target issues. We review your goals to address concerns and help you move further from dis-ease in the direction of health and wellness.
Customized Modern Skin Care for All Ages, Goals, and Skin Types
Our approach to skin care relies on modern technique to assist your skin in its natural function, and to rebuild impaired barrier function for maximum skin health. After experiencing sun damage living in Costa Rica Megan became a licensed Esthetician and is passionate about discerning trends from truths in skin care. Megan continually refines Sena Spa’s proprietary DermaSound™ Elite Ultrasonic Facial, a thorough system of exfoliation, cleansing, and reintroducing hydration through infusion and receives overwhelmingly positive feedback about results. We assist teens in learning how to care for their skin, the betterment of skin conditions such as acne, and healthy intervention to gently aid in renewal and turnover of skin to reveal beautiful, dewy, freshly glowing skin.
Sena’s Professional Therapists are Experienced, Certified, and Insured
Unfortunately, Wyoming is one of the last states to allow the practice of massage therapy by unlicensed individuals without criminal penalty.
Massage requires knowledge of the relationship between client/practitioner, standards, ethics, therapeutic boundaries, health contraindications, work within a defined scope of practice and therapists do not diagnose. Additionally, when a candidate is state licensed it is standard practice to undergo additional testing, fingerprinting, and, they must meet background check requirements, be free of prior convictions, and meet annual continuing education requirements.
We believe strongly that legislation is necessary to protect both the public and practitioners from nefarious practices including human trafficking occurring in Wyoming. In Jackson Hole, it’s easy to assume that your therapist is certified when in fact they may have no formal education or do not qualify for licensure in a regulated state. This means an individual purporting to be a “professional massage therapist” may have never taken an anatomy course and have minimal knowledge of what they are doing.
Massage is an investment in your health and wellbeing. It is paramount to receive bodywork from professionally trained bodyworkers. Trust your body with the best.
Sena Spa’s owner Megan Rumsey practiced in Wyoming from 2002 and was licensed in the state of Utah in 2006. She is board certified by NCBTMB, completes continuing education regularly. As of 2015, although not recognized in Wyoming, she maintains Idaho licensure in respect to the professional standards of the practice of massage therapy.
Megan first arrived in Jackson in 1997 where she worked at Dornan’s in Moose. In 2001 Megan attended the “Harvard of Massage schools,” The Utah College of Massage Therapy. Megan has traveled extensively working, studying, and living alongside masters in the healing arts and experiencing bodywork treatments worldwide. Megan was a volunteer staff member at The Omega Institute for holistic studies and spent near 3 years living in the “blue zone” of Costa Rica where she created tropical body treatment recipes while working in the jungle spa at The Harmony Hotel’s Healing Centre. In April 2016 became the new owner of Sena Spa at The Teton Club LLC.
