The GYROKINESIS® Method
GYROKINESIS® exercises are the root of the GYROTONIC®work but are practiced while on a stool or mat. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body’s internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the movements. The movements have been described as dance-like, like moving yoga, as close to swimming as possible without being in water, and as relaxing as tai chi or qi gong.

Turpin Meadows Ranch
Take your 4- Wheel Drive North to access stunning views of full Teton Range at Turpin Meadows near Buffalo Fork, WY on the way to Togwotee. A guest ranch owned by Nordic Olympians Hans and Nancy Johnstone. This Wyoming Nordic ski resort has acres of rolling fields, uphill, downhill and everything in between and stunning views of the Grand Tetons, this is great Nordic terrain for everyone. The track stretches acrosses 15 km and offers several different trails. Fatbiking, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing. You will drive via Jackson North. It’s 55 miles but with the terrain, it takes shy of 2 hours to reach as you will likely stop and take photos. You’ll pass some of the most scenic viewpoints outside GTNP as you drive US 26E to Buffalo Valley. Turpin Meadows Ranch Nordic Grooming Report.
Granite Hot Springs by Sled Dog or Self-Guided XC Ski Tour
Book early for a scenic, warm ride in a modern dog sled. Tours with Jackson Hole Iditarod sell out. In the winter, visitors must access a scenic rustic outdoor soaking pool at Granite Springs by skis, snowshoes, snowmobile or dogsled when the pool temperature may be up to 112 °F degrees.
A true backcountry experience for the hearty. If you have a rental car and XC equipment, drive 30 minutes South of Jackson via Hoback Canyon to access the Granite trailhead via US-191. Note parking is limited you may have to wait. Some guides say the journey is 2 hours. We disagree. It’s a slow, ungroomed 11 miles each way. Plan on 3, try to stay in the snowmobile tracks. Count time to soak. Consider inclement weather. No services, no cell service. Basic un-heated changing room, and cash only at the springs. XC ski not recommended for kids.
We’ve done fatbikes in winter. We highly recommend the electric option, it’s a strenuous but faster trip via E-fatbike with a little bit of falling over and slow-going. Know the battery will (quite likely, no matter what hours of charge say) NOT survive the full trip. Some heavy manual pedaling will be needed. After a hot springs soak this is harder than you’d think. You will need a truck for Fatbike transport and we recommend renting at Hoffs or Hub. We saw people huffing and puffing on regular fat bikes who said the way out was almost 3 hours.
Your strenuous, sweaty XC ski tour has minimal elevation, you will be passed by snowmobilers but rewarded with incredible scenery. The scenery is spectacular. Hours can change and service to call is spotty. 10-6 in the winter (early December to early April). You can call ahead: 307-690-6323 as dates are all weather dependent.
