EXPERIENTIAL RESEARCH & FINDINGS (under construction)
By knowing what it is like to be a client we serve our
Sena Spa guests to the highest quality standards
After 17 years working in the wellness industry, our owner is versed in all things Massage & Spa. Not just in the giving of services. Megan has been conducting dedicated experiential research studying and receiving services for over two decades. She still refines her craft, reads trade journals, take classes, and mentors, teaches, and supervises learning.
Megan loves hydrotherapy and an avid hot springs go-er. She has also visited spas and geothermal healing centers all around the world. A memorable research journey was Lake Balaton in Eastern Europe. The nearby town Hévíz, Hungary is centered around therapeutics and healing. She has studied healing arts in various countries and alongside master practitioners near and far, including immersing in Asia on multiple occasions. She feels it is critical to go to spas, wellness centers, and individual therapeutic service providers to not just stay current but to remember what the guest experience feels like.
In April she visited Indonesia, specifically Bali and Lombok. She received a stellar treatment from the formal personal therapist to the Queen of Bahrain at Pineapple House Bali. The goal of travel was spa research. To fine-tune details of Sena’s signature Body Exfoliation treatment and to research facial regimes and products. We received at least 30 hours of treatments mostly Javanese style Lulur and Balinese Boreh. Our goal was to learn Indonesian Boreh to fine tune our body exfoliation Our Alpenglow Body Polish 50 minute or 100 Minute Alpenglow Combo are indeed World-Class.
On the way to/from Indonesia, we had long layovers in Seoul, Korea. Korea is the home of K-beauty and all things skincare. Korea makes, in our opinion, the world’s best sheet masks and we happily perused multitudes of products.
Summer of 2018 Megan attended the World’s largest Esthetic trade shows personally visiting top Las Vegas spas The BATHHOUSE SPA, Four Seasons at Mandarin Hotel, for a private hosting with American Spa Magazine’s Julie Keller Callahan. We received an Envelopment treatment at Canyon Ranch Spa where we learned of wonderful take-home Patchology PERFECT WEEKEND & ON THE FLY masks we now carry for retail sale.
We’ve been in close direct continual contact with suppliers, makers, formulators, product developers in the Esthetic and Massage industry. In our search for a new skin care line to offer at Sena, we conducted extensive research with myriad professional skin care lines. We tested several dozen product lines from Indie Beauty trade shows, consulted face-to-face with experts at the International Congress of Esthetic trade Show. At IECSC we attended blogger’s Lipgloss+Aftershave’s education event. IECSC is the world’s largest esthetic event. It was similar but involved more products and suppliers than the Face & Body Trade Show in Atlanta, GA in 2017. In Atlanta, we immersed in continuing education, tested numerous lines. Sorella Apothecary was our pick! We now carry the full line in retail and our treatment back bar.
